Church Announcements (29th -30th Nov)

1.      Today is the 1st Sunday of Advent. Feasts during week are as follows:

·        Today 30th Nov is Feast of St Andrew the Apostle

·        Wednesday 3rd Dec is Feast of St Francis Xavier

·        Thursday 4th Dec is the feast of St John Damascene, Doctor of the Church

·        Saturday 6th Dec is the feast of St Nicholas.

2.          All parishioners are warmly invited for Gospel Praise Night today after this mass. Featuring powerful preaching by Fr. Andrew Dantis, this evening promises to be a spirit-filled celebration. Join us with your loved ones and be part of this uplifting experience!

 3.          The youth of our parish are presenting a Joyful Senior Citizens’ Get-Together on Thursday, December 4th, starting at 10:00 AM onwards.

 4.          In the tribal, rural communities of our Diocese, countless families are battling Hunger and Disease every single day. Many go to sleep with empty stomachs, and many more struggle against sickness without access to medicine, nutrition, or basic care. This Advent Season, let us become the light that reaches them. A special Donation Box titled “Hunger & Disease Relief” will be placed before the altar to support the life-saving mission of Caritas – Vasai Janhit Trust. We earnestly appeal to you: open your hearts and donate generously.

Your contribution-small or big-will ensure that no one sleeps hungry, no one suffers without care, and no family loses hope. Cheques may be drawn in favour of ‘Vasai Janhit Trust’, which has 80G for tax exemption.

 5.          Diocesan Medical Fund- Human life is a Gift of God, and we preserve it through Faith in God, and Trust in our Family. It is nurtured through self-discipline, food, exercise, rest and God’s Grace, too. However, especially after the Corona Virus Pandemic poor, some well-to-do and even rich people are affected. All of us know some grave illnesses and enormous estimated expenditures in the form of surgery and medication, besides the recurring expenses. So, the Diocese is starting ‘Diocesan Medical Fund’ on the occasion of the Jubilee Year 2025.

The beneficiaries will be the most needy and acutely sick persons in and from the Diocese of Vasai. A Corpus will be built, and the interest accrued thereupon will be utilised.

Hence, we request our parishioners to donate generously and to issue a cheque in favour of ‘Diocesan Trust Vasai’. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

 6.          Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) meeting will be held on Sunday 7th December at 11am in Don Bosco School Hall. Leaders are requested to kindly attend the same.

7. We are pleased to announce that Fr. Anthony Foncesa will be celebrating the Silver Jubilee of his Priesthood on Tuesday 16th December 2025. To commemorate this special occasion, a Eucharistic Mass will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the Church, which will be presided over by our beloved Bishop Thomas D’Souza.

Pls note that there will be no 7pm mass on Tuesday 16th December

8.          Kindly note last Sunday’s collection amounted to Rs. 36,910 (Thirty-six Thousand nine hundred and ten).
